The first WLN Japan Mentoring Pilot Program Kickoff/Matching Session hosted by the Career Committee was held on Wednesday, October 24, from 9:30-11:00 at McCann Worldgroup Japan with 15+ mentors and mentees.

The kickoff event opened with remarks from Charles Cadell, McCann Worldgroup Japan and APAC CEO who spoke about his views on the importance of mentoring. WLN Japan Co-Chair and CFO APAC, Ji Watson shared her experience being a mentee as well as mentor and how it enriched her life. Rie Otsuka, Career Committee lead, explained the roles and responsibilities and the expectations of Mentors and Mentees. The Speed Matching session was full of positive discussions. Mentors and mentees to began the six-month program on November 5.  The plan is to learn from this pilot case and make a full-fledged Mentoring Project launch open to all staff commencing Spring 2019 where anybody who wishes to have a mentor can participate.
