The Crucial Need for Corporate Allyship

WLN’s own Angie Piwinski was invited by McCann Worldgroup to participate in their sponsored panel discussion in the first-ever NYC Pride Human Rights Conference entitled “The Crucial Need for Corporate Allyship.”

The panel focused on the roles of corporations and how can they use their power to positively impact and be allies to the LGBTQ community by creating and fostering more inclusive environments and cultures internally and externally. This is especially important given recent statistics highlighting a significant shift in LGBTQ acceptance. A robust discussion also highlighted examples of how inclusive workplace environments were critical to driving employee retention and business outcomes.  The panel, moderated by Fran Tirado, Writer, Executive Editor of Hello Mr. Magazine, & Co-Host Food 4 Thot Podcast, included Sean MacDonald, Global Chief Digital Officer, McCann Worldgroup, Tamara Stewart, EVP Development, GLAAD, Angelique Piwinski, Diversity & Inclusion Program Specialist, IPG and Jamie Whitney, SVP Head of Legal, IMS, & Corporate Transactions, State Street Bank and Trust Company.
