WLN LA Hosts Mentoring Mixer

The Los Angeles chapter of the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) wrapped up their 2015 year-long Mentorship Circle program with a Mentoring Mixer on May 24th. This was an opportunity for participants to meet mentors and mentees from other circles and to recruit mentees for the 2016 circles. The evening included a panel discussion made of up mentors and mentees, a clothing drive for Dress For Success, and a recruitment plug for the next Mentorship Circle session. The evening began with an introduction to WLN LA Chapter and closed with networking amongst agency peers. 55 women from across the Los Angeles IPG agency network attended.

Deutsch New York appoints Rachel Mercer as VP, Digital Strategy Director

mercer1New York – May 24, 2016 — Deutsch New York’s Chief Strategy Officer, Andrew Dawson, announced the appointment of Rachel Mercer as VP, Digital Strategy Director. She will be charged with helping to grow the Agency’s digital, social and innovation strategy practice – working on clients including Sherwin-Williams and PNC Bank. Reporting directly to Dawson, May 31 is her first day. Mercer replaces Scott Lindenbaum who is transferring to the LA office as SVP, Director of Digital Strategy, Products and Platforms, effective June 6.

UM Reorganizes Its North American Network After Big Wins in the 'Year of the Pitch'

President Kasha Cacy has been promoted to U.S. CEO

IPG's UM was named Adweek's 2015 Media Agency of the Year in February after winning J&J, Coca-Cola, CVS, BMW and McCormick in the spate of reviews known colloquially as "Mediapalooza" or "The Year of the Pitch."

But now, the agency is reorganizing its North American network. President Kasha Cacy has been promoted to U.S. CEO after leading several successful pitches and promoting UM's efforts to improve its targeting with data.

UM global CEO Daryl Lee called Cacy "a superstar" and told Adweek, "What we are doing is recognizing and reinforcing the U.S. leadership that has been so successful over the past year."

Three UM executives also have been promoted to serve as presidents of their respective geographic regions. Global CMO Lynn Lewis will lead the East Coast region, while UM Detroit evp and general manager Scott Russell will be president of the network's central region. Martin Agency hires 4Creative high flyer Olivia Browne

unnamed-12Interpublic-owned The Martin Agency, one of the very best US creative agencies, has, like many of its American peers, made a slow start in London.

The agency opened its doors in 2014 but is still in the process of completing its management. It’s now taken a big step forward by hiring Olivia Browne (below) from Channel 4’s much awarded 4Creative where she was group business director. Campbell Ewald Appoints Jo Shoesmith as First Female Chief Creative Officer

The move by the Interpublic-owned agency comes as Madison Avenue is under increased scrutiny over the number of women in top roles, especially in the creative department.

Ms. Shoesmith, who joined Campbell Ewald last year, succeeds Mark Simon, who is retiring after 16 years with Campbell Ewald. Ms. Shoesmith joined the agency last year as executive creative director and earlier worked at Leo Burnett Chicago on brands such as Allstate and Hallmark.  Read the full article.
