bn-nq432_campbe_m_20160420102852Campbell Ewald has promoted Jo Shoesmith to the role of chief creative officer, making her the agency’s first female to hold that title in its 105-year history.

The move by the Interpublic-owned agency comes as Madison Avenue is under increased scrutiny over the number of women in top roles, especially in the creative department.

Ms. Shoesmith, who joined Campbell Ewald last year, succeeds Mark Simon, who is retiring after 16 years with Campbell Ewald. Ms. Shoesmith joined the agency last year as executive creative director and earlier worked at Leo Burnett Chicago on brands such as Allstate and Hallmark.  Read the full article.
