Which Gender is More Professionally Competent?

“Which Gender is More Professionally Competent?” was the topic of discussion at the WLN Minneapolis lunch event on Oct. 25 hosted by Carmichael Lynch Spong.

Career coaches from Minneapolis-based global leadership firm PDI Ninth House (a Weber Shandwick client) shared research findings that show clear differences in professional competencies between men and women. They also provided concrete tips on career advancement  and took questions from the audience.

Panelists from PDI Ninth House were:

  • Joy Hazucha, Ph.D. – Senior Vice President, Leadership Research
  • Marg Penn, Ph.D. – Executive Consultant, Professional Services
  • Joanne Provo, Ph.D. – Vice President and Managing Director, Midwest Territory
  • Carol Skube – Senior Consultant, Professional Services.

Their advice for moving ahead starts with examining your career goals and motivators.  Then consider what experiences you need to pursue your goals and what competencies you need to develop.
