National Mentoring Month Event

In recognition of National Mentoring Month, WLN Minneapolis and Weber Shandwick hosted a January 24th Breakfast event with guest speaker Mary Mahoney.  Mary is founder and president of Millennia Leaders LLC, a management consulting and professional development group.  Mary provided us with a Top 10 List for Career Success.

Mary debunked the myths about mentoring and advised how you can develop a definition of mentoring that leads you to career success on your own terms.  Mentoring requires more than a cookie cutter approach.  It is not hierarchical or just for entry-level professionals.  Mentoring can be short-term or long-term.  It can be conducted one-on-one or in peer groups.  While mentoring can take many forms, the outcomes are the same for everyone.  Mentoring helps you build your professional network, learn new skills, and inspires you to act.
