worden_bIn her own (Twitter-ready) words, Brooke Worden is the 2011 Minnesota PRSA President, loyal Weber Shandwickian for the past 11 years, retirement-obsessed, former journalist and mgmt consultant.  And that’s just her talents at work – she’s also a mom, jewelry collector, clarinet player, and more – read on to get a glimpse into the things that keep Brooke creating great PR campaigns and motivating colleagues every day.

Do you have a favorite quote?

“I have more fun today than yesterday. And you can too.”
–Diana Ross
I like it because it acknowledges the power of the present. I was reading recently that Oprah doesn’t make New Year’s resolutions anymore because they disregard the power of the here and now, and this quote reinforces that for me. Plus, I just love Diana Ross and her music. She’s a force.

Any hobbies? Don’t be shy, we accept all types.

I collect cameo jewelry and read Southern literature. I am an aspiring tennis player. I’ve never had a lesson, but I’m pretty good.

What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without? Why?

I couldn’t live without my TurboJam DVD set. TurboJam is a fusion of kickboxing, dance and martial arts. I love to exercise and don’t have time to go to the gym. I am the queen of home fitness products.

Whom do you most admire? Why?

Sara Gavin, president of Weber Shandwick’s Minneapolis office. I admire Sara because she is the best listener I know and also the busiest person I know. This is not an easy combination to pull off, and I don’t know how she does it. I am in awe of Sara.

If you could be any brand, what brand would you be and why?

I think I would be eBay because I was born on the West Coast, have an entrepreneurial personality and am a total pack rat.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Meetings without a clear purpose or agenda.

If you had to be in a talent show, what would you do?

Play the clarinet. I’m a little rusty, but I think I could pull it off.
